Obituary – David Njaim

Njaim-DIt is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the age of 81.
David will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 53 years, Abla (née Ayoub) and his cherished children, Bahy (John Meyer), Eli (Mirna Ghazal) and Margo.
He will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Elise, David, Jacqueline, Alexandra, Lily and Dahlia, by his brothers, Naim (late Marie Baroud) and Sami (Amal Ibrahim).
David was predeceased by his brother Nicholas (Amira Ibrahim). He will be missed by his numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
David was a pillar to the Lebanese community in Ottawa. He was a founding member of his church, founder of Mid-East Food Centre, and a prominent business leader . He touched many lives, and helped many friends in need and anyone who asked. The community is what it is today because he lived.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 21, from 6 to 9 PM and Thursday, August 22 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at McEvoy-Shields, 1411 Hunt Club Rd.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 23, at 11 AM, at Sts Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Rd.
Interment will follow in the family plot at Beechwood Cemetery.
Special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus 4th floor Transition unit staff for the dedicated care provided to David and the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of David may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church or to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
