Aged 86 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening July 20, 2016, at home, surrounded by family. Her unwavering zest for life was exceeded only by her love and dedication to her loving husband Elia, son Michel Mahfouz, daughter Huguette Barakat (Moufid), daughter Helen Abraham (Peter) and son Nabil Mahfouz (Lilliane).
Also survived by her sister Wadad Abi-Khalil (Khalil), who was at her bedside and brother Samir Abi-Khalil,  all of L ebanon.
Predeceased by her parents Youssef and Wadiha Abi-Khalil, brothers Emile Abi-Khalil , George Abi-Khalil, Jean Abi-Khalil and sisters Rose Abou Jaoude and Janette Zoghbi , who will all be waiting for her at the gates of heaven.
She will be forever remembered by her 10 grandchildren, Ziad Barakat, Fadi Barakat (Sandra), Marwan Barakat (Minya), Kristina DeRosa (Joseph), Angela Abraham, Ryan Abraham, Branden Abraham, Marisa Abraham , Zachary Mahfouz, and Jasmine Mahfouz ,  great grandchildren Ella Barakat, Mia Barakat , Sebastian DeRosa and Olivia Barakat, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Angele fought a relentlessly courageous battle with cancer and it was her love and faith in Jesus and St Charbel that gave her the strength to do so. We wish to thank all the doctors , nurses and support staff of the Ottawa General Hospital and Cancer Centre for their miracle work. As well, the home care doctors, nurses and psw’s for their tireless  support, most notably Carol, who took care of her as she would her own mom. Special thanks to Dr Andrew Seely who was not only her surgeon but her living guardian angel. The family will receive friends and relatives at McEvoy – Shields Funeral Home,  1411 Hunt Club Rd (at Albion Road  (at Albion Road) from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Sunday, July 24, 2016
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Charbel Maronite Church, 245 Donald St.
Interment Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Charbel Maronite Church and  the Ottawa Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.
