Antoinette Abou Ezze Akkawi
Born in Beirut, Lebanon.
In the early morning of Sunday, September 22, 2024, Antoinette Akkawi (née Abou Ezze) passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 86.
Antoinette is predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew Akkawi.
Loving mother of Abraham (Susan), Elie (Luba) and Kamal (Donna).
Cherished Teta of Andrew (Michele), Michael (Casey), Nicole (Kevin), Ashley, Olivia, Antoinette, Alexandra and Nicholas; great-grandmother of Ada, Lucas, Lola and Hannah.
Dear sister of Albert and Siham.
Antoinette loved to host all; no one leaves her house with an empty stomach. She devoted herself to raising her sons, while caring for her husband of 53 years. Antoinette’s kindness, strength, and humour left a mark and inspired those who had the honour of interacting with her. Those around her bore witness to her resilience and the way she handled life’s many challenges.
Antoinette’s sons and their families will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr. followed by funeral service.
Interment at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave.
