It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Georges El-Gharib on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Nadia (née Abdo) of 54 years.
Devoted father of Elie (Liliane Zgheib), Nicolas, Rola Freije (Elias) and Michel (Rana Ashkar).
Georges will be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Georges, Antonio, Oliver, Giorgio, Nicolas, Lara and Michael.
Loving brother of Massad (Haifa Mrad) of Ottawa, Rose El-Gharib (late Abdallah) of Lebanon, Zoha Parsalis (late Demosthenes) of Greece, the late Michael, Fares, Monira, Namoura and Saydeh.
Georges will be missed by his sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm  at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10:30am at Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr.
Interment to follow at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank street.
Georges was a God-loving, generous and hard working man who loved his family more than anything else, his love and laughter will fill our hearts forever.
In Georges’ memory, donations to Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral would be appreciated.
