It is with sad hearts that the family of Najat Janna announces her passing on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the age of 84.
She bravely battled a brief illness, throughout which she was surrounded by her family. Her passion in life was her grandchildren, and for all who knew her,  she loved a good conversation.
Loving mother of Richard (Samia Chedid), Peter (Marlene Zakaib)  and Brian (Colette Corban).
Beloved Teta of Rebecca, Ashley, Erin, Christopher, Matthew and Thomas.
Dear sister of Souad (Walid Yaziji),  sister-in-law of Lorraine Janna and Nick Janna (Cathy).
She will be dearly missed by her relatives, friends and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her adoring husband, Maurice Janna, her sister Hayat (Sam Malik), her brother Alexander and her sister-in-law Marilyn Janna.
Born in Rashaya, Lebanon, her family immigrated to Canada in 1954.
After briefly living in Montreal, she married and moved with her husband to Ottawa, where both were pioneers in the Lebanese community.  She was fiercely devoted to her family and committed to her faith.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Oakpark Retirement Community, as well as at MLC Healthcare Services, for their support and loving care in her final days.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 N River Rd, Ottawa ON K1K 3W5  from 10:00 am followed by funeral service at 11:00 am.
Interment Notre-Dame Cemetery, 455 Montreal Rd, Ottawa, ON K1K 0V2.
Due to government regulations, only 150 people are allowed in the church at the same time.
Face mask and social distancing is a must.
