It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Richard (Rasheed) Farhat peacefully at his home on Thursday September 24, 2020 at the age of 89.
He will be forever loved and mourned by his wife Amal Daoud Farhat.
Loving and dedicated father to his adoring children Lillian, Sharon (Wes Piekut), Jason (Samantha Galvez) and the late Mylene.
Proud and loving Jiddo to  his precious grandaughter Milan.
Predeceased by his sister Nazima Medewar and brother Diab Farhat.
Uncle and great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Dr. Chew for her care over the years and to the doctors and wonderful nursing staff at the Riverside Dialysis Unit who took great care of Richard for over 4 1/2 years.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 28, 2020 from  9:30 am  at Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, followed by funeral service at 10:30 am.
Burial will be a private  family service.
Due to government regulations, only 160 people are allowed in the cathedral at the same time.
Face mask and social distancing is a must.
In memory of Richard, online donations to St. Elias Cathedral or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
