Obituary – Safi Haddad

Safi Haddad
(December 1, 1937 — August 31, 2024)
Born in Sednaya, Syria.
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 1:15 am, after a battle with kidney disease. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Ottawa, Ontario.
Survived by his wife Salwa of 48 years, his children Alain, Lisette, and David; his siblings Mariam, Rosette, Jean, Samia, and Fairouz; and his grandchildren David, Emilia, Aurelia, and Olivia.
Predeceased by his parents, Afif and Lisa (Sarhan) Haddad, his brother Daoud, and his sister Marie.
Family was at the heart of Safi’s life. A kind-hearted individual, Safi had a deep appreciation for nature, particularly enjoying the tulip festival in Ottawa due to his love of flowers. In his younger years, he was an avid sports enthusiast, especially fond of tennis. His love for music was well-known, with many remembering his decades of playing the lute before he took up the piano.
Funeral service and burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Rd, Carp, ON,. Reception will follow from 5:00  to 8:00 pm at 2298 Bowman Rd, Ottawa, ON.
