Five Days Bracelet for $80                            Family Gathering Schedule

As we prepare to celebrate our 20th Annual Family Gathering around the Virgin Mary, the Parish Council would like to firstly thank all who are continuously contributing to its success year after year. This year we are highlighting the work of hundreds of volunteers who have truly made such a tremendous difference in our community.

Year after year, thousands of people from across the country, the United States and Lebanon gather with great enthusiasm at Saint Charbel Maronite Catholic Parish to celebrate the Annual Family Gathering around the Virgin Mary, particularly as it marks the day of Mary’s assumption into heaven.

This year, Saint Charbel Maronite Catholic Parish of Ottawa will be marking the gathering’s twentieth anniversary, where the tremendous work of hundreds of committed volunteers will come together over the period of five days, from August 13 to the 18, 2014.

The opening ceremony will take place Wednesday, August 13th 2014, beginning with a processional around the Virgin Mary, followed by a glimpse of the entertainment extravaganza to be expected for the week of festivities. In addition, this religious and social event showcases the cultural heritage of Lebanese-Canadians who have come together to pray, dance, learn about the Lebanese and Maronite Heritage and Folklore, sing along, and enjoy delicious Lebanese gourmandise as well as breathtaking performances while celebrating the parish’s’ grandest feast day of the year.

Since August 1994, under the leadership of the late Monsignor Raymond Hanna, whose legacy continues to live on within the greater Lebanese and Maronite community, the annual family gathering has continued to grow tremendously with the help of our fellow parishioners and the greater community. As it continues to attract thousands of individuals from various backgrounds and ethnicities, the city of Ottawa now anticipates this major social and spiritual event.

Our Annual Family Gathering will unfold on the blessed and vast St Rafqa land of the Saint Charbel premises, located at 245 Donald Street, Ottawa ON K1K 1N1. The parish will be open throughout the week for those who wish to pray and receive the sacrament of reconciliation.

With free parking and no admission fee, our Annual Family Gathering around the Virgin Mary is sure to be an incredible way to spend time with family, friends and God.
