Obituary – Elham Abuchacra Saikali

Left this world suddenly in Gatineau  on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the age of 76.
She was born on June 20, 1946 in Jdeidet Marjeyoun, Lebanon.
Elham was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friends.  A loving wife of late Assaf Saikali, a wonderful mother of Gisèle (Denis Cabral), Suzanne (Marc-André Simard), Katia and Linda (Marc-Antoine Le Guerrier-Aubry.
Cherished grandmother of Mathieu, Nicholas, Jasmine and Chad.
Elham “Hamo” will be remembered as a gifted cook who loved spending time in the kitchen, creating tables of delicious meals for her family and friends, a talented gardener and a hard-working lady. She was the kindest person you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to many people over the years and she will be deeply missed by all.
“Mom, you were the most exceptional, loving, caring, inspiring and beautiful woman inside and out to us and a dear friend to many. Rest assured that we will take care of one another. All that we are or ever hope to be, we owe it to you our beautiful angel. Forever in our hearts.”
The family will receive relatives and friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 2;00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 10:30 am.
Interment to follow at Capital Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,  considering  a donation in Elham’s memory to St. Elias Cathedral  or  the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada  would be appreciated.
