“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
– Matthew 11:28

Jamal-JenetteJeanette El-Jamal
(née Dfouni)
Passed away on the night of Thursday May 27, 2021, at the age of 74.
She was a wonderfully loving mother to Mario (Celine Khairallah) and Matthew.
The adored Teta Jeannette of Hana Louisa.
Devoted and loving wife of the late Afif Sleiman El-Jamal.
Dear and caring sister of Jean Dfouni (Therese Aoun), Tony Dfouni (Elham Nassar), Therese (Khalil Tohme) and Amal Dfouni; predeceased by her brother Elie Dfouni (Helene Abi Aad) and sister Samo (Naoum Sarkis).
Deeply loved by all her nieces, nephews, family and friends around the world, from Lebanon to Canada.
Jeannette (Jano) was a sweet, kind, gracious, charming and loving woman with a will of iron.
She loved to laugh and loved to dance and loved to have friends and family around. Her love and devotion to her sons and her late husband were transcendent. She had a great sense of humor. She told great stories that held the audience in rapture.
She loved Bikfaya peaches, and banana honey sandwiches, and Moghrabi orange juice, and the comedic writings of the Khazen family, and the music of Fairuz and Wadi El-Safi and Enrico Macias and Dalida. Her presence was a source of happiness to all. She will be deeply missed.
