Obituary – George Elias Absi

Passed away in Ottawa on Saturday October 22, 2022 at the age of 94.
Beloved husband of 71 years of Wadad Maron Absi.
Loving father of Inaam (Joe Saab), Elie (Randa Moufarej), Jerry (Mira El Rahi), Sophie (Jose Maron) and Nada (Tony Semaan).
Cherished grandfather of Geoff Saab (Effie Kardaras), Jo-Ann Saab (Jason Flood) and Kristen Saab (Jeff Lewis ) ; Nadine Absi (Phil  Azzi), Melissa Absi (George Kardaras), George, Jazzmin and Andrew Absi;  Stefano Maron; Amanda Semaan (Rabieh Nassrallah), Maurice and Allison Semaan; and nine great-grandchildren.
Dear brother of Eid (Laudy Choueiry) and  Marie (late Abdo Wazen); predeceased by Michel (Samira Hajjar), Joseph (Georgette Asmar) and Saïd (Thérèse Asmar).
He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins,  godchildren, friends and Mashgharanians in Canada and Lebanon.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday October 24, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, and on Tuesday October 25, 2022 at 10:00 am at Saint-Charbel Parish Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald St. followed by funeral service at 11:00 am.
Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd. Ottawa.
