Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the age of 81.
Houda lived a life defined by boundless resilience, unwavering integrity, and unconditional love for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Always putting the well-being of others before her own, she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration that has touched generations, young and old. She will be dearly missed.
Survived by her siblings Fawaz Khouri (Gloria) and Lamia Saghbini (Ezzat) of Ottawa; Anise (late Nouhad) of Lebanon; Dr. Zahi (Tonia) of Italy; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she loved as her own.
Predeceased by her parents Mikhael and Olga, her late brothers Emile, Sami (Jeannette), Nazir (Tackla), and her late sister Lina (late Said Maalouf).
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, immediately followed by funeral service.
Interment at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bruyère Health – Saint Vincent Hospital for their exceptional care and support.
