Obituary – Salwa Abou-Assaly

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Salwa on Saturday August 9, 2025, at the age of 95.
Beloved daughter of the late Mikhael Malouf & Bahia Abou-Eid.
Loving wife of the late Mikhael Abou-Assaly.
Caring mother of Sam (Roseanne  Rizk), Tony ( Marie Abou-Adili), Laudi (Antoine Bouhanna), Karimee (George Mackaroon), Violette (George  Gharib) and Victoria (Kenny Jamal); predeceased by Nina (late Hanna Abou-Adili) of Lebanon.
Cherished and adored teta of Eva, Sam, Ricky, Michelyne, Jocelyne, Charlie, Malake, Rosemary, Esper, Micheal, Anthony, Sally, Mikhael, Ashley, Joseph, Aline and Andrew of Canada; and Mona, Hoda, Jackie, Kathia, George and Rosine of Lebanon. A proud great-grandmother to 43 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Charbel Abou Eid (Layla Skaff) and Andre Abou Eid (Leina Salamani); predeceased by Yvonne (late Hanna Mackaroon), Elias (late Samira Rizk), Antoine (Amalia Malouf), Antoinette (late Dib Abou-Eid) and Raymond (Saide Aboud).
She will be deeply missed by many families, and all who were blessed to know her.
Her legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of the many lives she touched and in all who knew her.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at The Ottawa General Hospital Campus, 4 West and 8 West, for their compassionate care and the support they showed her.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, between 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr., Ottawa, followed by the funeral service.  Interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations to  St. Elias Cathedral , would be appreciated.
