Obituary – Chafic Felfli

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” (John 11:25)

Chafic Felfli

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Chafic Felfli, on Thursday,  August 6, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Devoted husband of Hnaini Abou-Najm.
Beloved father of Rima (Brian Hurley), Georges (Mira Al-Najjar), and Douha (Dirk Tempel).
Cherished grandfather of Brandon, Stephanie, Melanie, Alyssa, Alex, Paul, Andrew and Angela.
Dear brother of Laura (Joseph Kashasha), Samira (Rev. Nicola Abou-Haidar) and the late Marie (the late George Dahdouh).
Chafic was raised in a close-knit family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife and a caring father, whose family was always at the heart of his life. He was a source of affection, support and joy for his grandchildren.
Teaching was an important part of his life, and he valued each of his students. His colleagues knew him for his humour and friendship.
Though we grieve his passing, we are grateful for the years we shared, the memories he gave us, and the lessons he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa,  followed by funeral services on-site.
Interment will be held at Capital Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive.
May he rest in peace.
