Obituary – Nicolas Zacharia Skaff

Nicolas Zacharia Skaff
(December 6, 1932 – September 1, 2026)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Nicolas, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 93.
Nicolas was a loving husband to Lody, devoted father to Doly (Roger Lamia), Marie (Tony Maatouk), and Angela, and proud Jedo to Anthony, Alexa, Nicholas, Michel, Ava, and Nicole.
Born in Zahle, Lebanon, Nicolas later made Ottawa his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Zacharia and Marie Skaff, and his brothers, Elie and George Skaff. He is survived by his sister Samira, brother Robbie (Suzanne), and many beloved relatives and friends.
Nicolas was a man of remarkable strength, kindness, and generosity. Through his faith in God and devotion to others, he earned the love, respect, and admiration of all who knew him. His family was his greatest blessing and the source of his greatest happiness.
He touched many lives through his wisdom, integrity, and willingness to help others. He made people feel valued and cared for, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, impressive physique, and the countless stories he shared that enriched the lives of all who loved him.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Beechwood Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.,  at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nicolas’s memory to St. Elias Cathedral  would be appreciated.
