Obituary – Catherine Abdel Ahad

Catherine Abdel Ahad
(née Bedrossian)
Born in 1935. Passed away peacefully on Sunday April 16, 2023.
Daughter of the late Yvonne Bedrossian (née Tourani) and Boutros Bedrossian.
She was a devoted wife to the late John Abdel Ahad and a loving mother to Elie, Pierre, Paul and Gabriel. Predeceased by her brother Elias. Catherine dedicated 30 years of her life teaching second language French at Ottawa Board of Education elementary schools. Her passion for excellence in language and her commitment to her students left a lasting impact. Today, because of her work, thousands of Canadians can speak French.
Catherine had a love for travel and adventure. She explored many parts of the world and brought back enriching stories and experiences. Catherine also had a passion for fashion and all finer things. She was collector and had a sharp eye for beauty.
Her friends called her “Ketty”. Her students called her “Madame Ahad”. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends may pay respect at the Kelly Funeral Home-Orleans 2370 St. Joseph Boulevard, Orleans K1C 1G1, 613-837-2370 on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 9:00 pm as well on Wednesday April 26, 2023 after 10:00 am, funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am.
Fortieth-Day memorial will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Rd., Ottawa.
