Dr. Ramzi Yussif Abunassar
(September 11, 1947 – November 9, 2021)
It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Ramzi Yussif Abunassar announces his passing on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the age of 74.
Cherished husband of 42 years of Hanan (Kteily).
Ramzi also leaves his beloved children and grandchildren: Dr Joseph George (Courtney Nelson) with little Nellie & Eden and Stemi, Dr Michael John (Danielle Marchand) with baby Everett and Jenny Tagreed (Mike MacLean) with little Jacob.
Son of Yussif and Alice (Zeitoun) Abunassar.
Dear brother of Amal, Jeanette and Tony.
He will be deeply missed by the entire Abunassar, Zeitoun and Kteily family of Ottawa and abroad.
The Family wish to thank the superb medical staff who were involved in Ramzi’s care.
Friends and family may pay their respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON K1V 6P9 on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resurrection of Our Lord Church, 1940 Saunderson Drive.
Interment at Hope Cemetery .

**Pursuant to vaccinated attendance regulations, at the request of the family, attendance will be restricted to fully vaccinated guests only.
Advanced registration is not required, however all guests must supply proof of double vaccination and a mask to enter the facility.
Ramzi was strongly devoted to his family whom he always put first. He was a charismatic, charming, humble and very hard working gentleman. He was very well-loved by those who were lucky enough to have known him. Ramzi came to Canada from Nazareth, Israel in the 1960s to pursue his dream – a career in medicine at the University of Ottawa. After obtaining his M.D., he subsequently completed specialty training in Internal Medicine at McMaster University and Gastroenterology at the University of Ottawa. This was followed by research in clinical nutrition. He worked at the Riverside Hospital, the Ottawa General Hospital, and The Ottawa Civic Hospital. Ramzi contributed to the teaching and the supervision of learners from the University of Ottawa and abroad. He dedicated more than 40 years to the care of the sick in his community.
