(née Chaar)
Born in Lebanon in 1927. Passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved daughter of the late Yaacoub and Massaade Chaar.
Devoted wife of the late Elie Mallouk.
Loving mother of Nahil (George Taza), Linda (Georges El-Chaar), Hanna (Ruha Bahnam) and Samira (George Nour).
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Nancy, Anthony (Krissy Bourque), Roni, Chahine, Dr. Darine (Jad Ghie), Joelle, Caroline (Alexander Learned), Patricia (Michael Malone), Dr. Elias and Alex.
She also was loved by her 11 great grandchildren Emileo, Matteo, Georgio, Marissa, Evyana, Eloise, Philip, Josh, Anabelle, Samuel and James.
Predeceased by her siblings, Wadiaa, Wadih, Abdallah, Youssef and Habib Chaar.
The family would like to thank the staff of Saint Patrick’s Home and The Ottawa Hospital for the good care they provided to our beloved “Mama Ghalia”.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday and Friday, May 11 and 12, 2023 after 6:00pm at 2748 Quinn Rd. K1T 3V5.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sts. Peter & Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa.
Interment at Our Lady of Visitation Cemetery, 5338 Bank St., Gloucester.
In lieu of flowers and for those wishing, in memoriam donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Church or Saint Patrick’s Home would be appreciated.
