Obituary – Jeannette Baroud
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25)

Jeannette Baroud
(née Barake)
Passed away after a brief illness on June 1, 2022 in her sleep at the age of 83.
Beloved wife of the late Zaki Baroud.
Much loved Mother of Naif, Maher, Emad and the late Chawki (Mireille) Baroud.
Cherished grandmother of Samantha, Darby and Despina.
Loving sister of Jean Barake (Eugenie) of Lebanon, Norma (Jawdat Ghazal) and the late Nabih Barake (Samia).
Dear sister-in-law of Souhail (Cathy) and Sami Baroud all of Ottawa; Samih (Rabeha) of Lebanon; late Nazih (late Rita) of Detroit and late Siham (late Simon Ibrahim).
She was a special aunt to many in Ottawa and Lebanon, and had a special place in her heart for many, especially her daughter-in-law Mireille and her cousin Michel Barake.
Lived every day of her life with passion, filled our lives with Love and Laughter. She was the happiest in her home, loved her family, friends and relatives and gave us such wonderful memories to enjoy forever.
She was the most grateful person and instilled that in us. We are grateful for so many blessings she provided us; created a huge void in our lives and will be sadly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday June 4, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 River Rd. followed by funeral service.
Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd.
A special thank you to her physician Dr. Paul Ghattas, the wonderful caring staff at the Civic Hospital D5 who cared for her with such dignity and respect, her caregivers and friends.
In memory of Jeannette, donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Church or the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus, would be appreciated.
