It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of our beloved Mona, after a long and courageous battle, surrounded by her loved ones, in Ottawa on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Beloved wife of George Chakib Baroud,
Cherished daughter of the late Joseph Ghattas and Sophie Barake Ghattas.
Loving sister of Wadad (late George Absi) and the late Neif (Norma), and survived by Phil (Sandra), Ida, and George (Emma).
Dear sister-in-law of Samia (Late George Abi Chakra), Jean Baroud (Louise), Samira (Habib Jacklese), and Nahia (Johnny Tabbal).
She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and their children.
Mona also leaves behind many cousins, friends and family.
The family will receive relatives and friends to celebrate Mona’s life on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Rd, Ottawa.
Special thanks to the staff at the Queensway Carlton Hospital, and her caregivers at Ottawa West Community Centre.
