Obituary – Philippe Kanaan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Philippe Kanaan on January 16, 2023, at the age of 89.
Beloved Husband of Nadia Kanaan (née Sfeir).
Devoted and loving father of Suzanne, Liliane (Nadim Krayem), Kanaan, Georges (Suzanne Biagé), Narimane and Fouad.
Survived by his loving sisters Rose (Fares Saikaly), Marie (late Elie Kharyati) and Mounira (Semaan Semaan).
Pre-deceased by his sisters Samira (late Joe Thomas), Hanneh (late Halim Makhoul), Victoria (late Fares Saikaley), and our most beloved, the late Soeur Emmanuelle.
Philippe will be forever adored and cherished by his grandchildren Mikaël, Mélina, Malorie, Cassandra and Clara; and he will be very missed by his large extended family members and friends, in particular his many beloved nephews and nieces who have the utmost admiration for him and by whom he was so proud to be called ‘Khalo’.
He will be well remembered as one of the greatest patriots, for the great love he had for his family, his unwavering loyalty to his friends, his adoration of all others, his humility, his strength, and his undeniable zest for life even throughout his health challenges.
Funeral service will be held  on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Charbel Maronite Church, 245 Donald Street, Ottawa, Ontario,.
Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Charbel Church and Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.
