Obituary – Renée Nehme

Renée Nehme
Our dear Aunt Renée died peacefully at the Peter D. Clark Centre in Nepean on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the age of 95.
Born in Kherbet Kanafar to Nehme Elias Nehme and Rifca (Hanna), predeceased by her sister Mariam (Boulas), brothers Elias (Ramza), Abdullah (Mona) and Joseph (Laurence).
Renée was the beloved and fun-loving aunt, great-aunt, great great-aunt and Godmother to many adoring nieces, nephews, & Godchildren in Ottawa, Akron Ohio and Brazil.
She left Lebanon in her 20’s and settled in Akron, Ohio where she worked as a seamstress at exclusive retail stores. She was an active member of the large Lebanese community in Akron helping to organize the annual Lebanese festival – the Kherbet Mahrajan. She would travel to Ottawa and Brazil frequently to spend time with her large extended family. Renée ended work life at the Akron General Hospital in Ohio, where she worked in multiple departments from the sewing room, to laundry, kitchen and finally transription, where she brought the office more alive with her fun loving spirt and Lebanese treats.
Renée spent the last 12 years of her life in Ottawa enjoying time with her many family members.
A funeral mass will be held at St Maurice Parish, 4 Perry Street, Nepean, Ontario on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 am.
