“The Lord Giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21)

Salam (Sally) Issa
(neé Saikaley)
It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of SALAM SAIKALEY ISSA who is now resting in the arms of the Lord.
She fell asleep on Tuesday April 1, 2025 at the age of 74.
Remarkable wife of the late Elias George Issa.
Incredible mother of Linda (Erik) and Paul.
Devoted daughter of Linda and the late Toufic Saikaley.
Sassy sister of Sam, Nadia (Roger Li), Simon, Souad, Bill and Robert (Nadine Nesrallah).
Amazing aunt of Ryan, Mathew, Ashley, and all the nieces and nephews.
Beloved sister-in-law of the late Nawal (Mikhael Khouri), Amal, Fadia (Raja Tenn), Farial, Joseph (Denise Rizk), Josephine (Mikheal El-Khoury), Fadi (Karolyn Cassidy) and Myra Zougheb.
Her love story began in Lebanon in 1973, where she met a handsome army officer – Elias Georges Issa. Upon returning to Canada, Elias and Salam, embarked on a 45-year long journey. Their family grew by two and they moved into their forever home. Spending time with her family, gardening, and baking for those she loved brought her the most joy. Salam is a beautiful example for all of us to live by.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, followed by funeral service.
Interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and for those wishing, donations to St. Elias Cathedral or Ottawa Cancer Foundation, would be  appreciated.
