It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Salem, in Ottawa on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Salem will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
He was a kind, generous, and sincere man whose warmth and presence touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his loving wife, Zakia Ghattas (née Ibrahim); his children, Tony, Andrew, and Andrea; his brother, Nicholas; and his sisters, Victorine (Nicholas Khalil) and Josephine, along with their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Dr. Ottawa, followed by funeral service.
Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing, in memoriam donations to  St. Elias Cathedral  would be appreciated.
