Obituary – Tanous Rached

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the age of 86.
Beloved husband of Damia Abou-Kheir Rached  for 54 years.
Loving father of Hani (Solmaz), Hanaa (Toni Azzi), Claudine (Amer Goncci), and Charbel (Krista).
Cherished jido of Isabelle, Omar, Noah, Jacob, Tyler, Caitlyn, and Jericho.
Dear son of the late Rashid and the late Mariam Rached of Qob Elias.
Honoured brother of Renee, Souhaila, Soeur Rose, Yvonne  and Anis; predeceased by Fares,  Elias,  Zahia, Jamilé and Saidé
Tanous was born on December 25, 1937 in Qob Elias, Lebanon, where he lived in to adulthood. He moved his young family to Ottawa in 1990, leaving behind his family and the homeland he loved so dearly.
He was welcomed to Canada by his wife’s extended family, the late Joseph Abou-Kheir  and his wife Jamile Abboud and their children, Wissam (Majida), George, Dr. Kamil (Jennifer), Leila (late Emile Abi Farah), Amal (Eli Dahdouh), Ibtisam (Joseph Saab) and their children.
His caring personality, quiet gentleness, and affectionate smile will be profoundly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home,
180 Montreal l Rd, Ottawa.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald St.
